My name is Sarah. I was born and raised in San Diego. I attended elementary school at Walker and Wangenheim for middle school in Mira Mesa. I graduated in the year of 2000 from Scripps Ranch High School. Immediately after high school I began the long road of college, which began at Miramar Community College as a part time student. I finally arrived at Cal State San Marcos in spring 2007 and joined the integrated credential program (ICP). The end of the road will soon come to an end in May 2009, when I finally graduate!!!!!!
My past experiences with technology are limited, but I enter this course with great interest. I have been a PC person for a long time until I met my first Mac and fell in love and have been inseparable ever since. I definitely depend on technology on a daily basis, whether I am at work, school, or home. I work at a grocery store, which solely relies on technology to run effectively. In school, I am constantly working with the internet for email and research. At home I really enjoy online shopping. The version of office that I have access to is 2003 on my Mac and office 2007 on my PC.
According to the college of education (COE) mission statement, CSUSM is preparing students with the tools needed to become well rounded teachers. Two parts of the statement that speak to me are diversity and student-centered education. As future teachers we are responsible for teaching a well balanced curriculum to reach ALL students. Ensuring a student-centered classroom requires creating a community of learners.

I am very excited that you are graduating! It was a road well taken and I believe you will make a GREAT teacher.
I like your idea of a community of learners. I understand a college is a market place of ideas but I never thought of it at the lower educational levels. Go create that community and we will have a better future.
